Okay guys it’s time to start a debate over one of the worst “sins” an artist online can do. And that subject is tracing!!!! Yes I know tracing sounds bad but in my opinion tracing is not bad. But before you get your pitchforks and torches I gotta say why I think this of course. The reason why I don’t think tracing is bad is because tracing saves a lot of time when it comes to animation, in animation especially when making parody videos an artist can’t just have a reference in their head. So they go to the official characters design and trace a layer from it to their animation. It’s not bad to do this because you are simply using one frame of animation that’s traced and with that one frame you can continue from scratch! Just like one animator does and his name is Antoons one of my favorite all time animators I really love the guy and his animations! So guys tracing is not bad and tracing not gonna kill you. (Side note: I understand that tracing still drawings and passing it off as your own is bad and it is. Just don’t moan and cry about it when it comes to animation because tracing still images and tracing in animation is completely different.) Don’t @ me.
